Lettings management platform Howsy claims it has seen an increase in business since the lockdown 10 days ago.
It says it’s enjoyed an easier transition into the lockdown than other companies reliant on physical offices, and has hired to senior staff members in recent days - just as some agencies were furloughing staff.
Now it’s making a pitch for agents let go by their High Street companies during the virus crisis.
“The increase in demand we’re currently seeing means we are able to up our employment drive and so for those in the traditional lettings industry who may now find themselves out of work, there may well be a role for you” says founder and chief executive Calum Brannan.
“As an online business, we’ve always prided ourselves on the ability to pivot quickly with the changing face of the rental sector. We’ve never encountered something to this magnitude but due to our operational agility and many of our existing product offerings, we’ve been able to adapt quickly and with very little disruption to the company as a whole” Brannan continues.
Howsy offers online ID verification, contracts, references and 24/7 customer support and says it’s suffered almost no disruption to marketing and managing a property within the current government restrictions.
