A Newcastle lettings agency says it’s cracked how to help reduce tenancy disputes at check out and speed up the return of deposits.
The Walton Robinson agency says it’s processed more deposit returns so far this year than in any previous year, and is on track for 100 per cent completion by the beginning of December.
It’s also seen an 80 per cent reduction in Tenancy Deposit Scheme disputes this year, compared with previous years.
Property Management Manager Gareth Thompson, says: “Our focus is on getting customer deposits back to them as quickly as possible, and making the fairest decisions possible in the process.”
And General Manager Amy Gibson adds: “We offered useful advice and information to tenants in the run up to their tenancy end date, including guidelines and checklists to follow in the last few days to ensure that there was minimal work required once they had vacated.
“As a result we definitely noticed an improvement in the conditions we found at the point of checkout.”

Something I'm sure many of us have been doing for years. Well done to them for just realising this as it's a time saver.
Still returning deposits at the end of November for a term that ended in July!!!! These should have been resolved and paid back weeks, if not months ago.
