A webinar is being held tomorrow, aimed to urging agents to get ahead of changes to the industry likely to be created by the Renters Reform Bill.
With timelines and the final shape of the Bill still uncertain, many agents are reportedly unsure how to move forward and where to focus their strategic planning. The webinar panel will provide guidance on where to focus and what action should be taken now and into 2024.
Panellists will include Laura Tweedy, a barrister at Gatehouse Chambers, and Sean Hooker, head of redress at the Property Redress Scheme; they will be joined by Goodlord’s Old Sherlock for the session, which begins at 10am tomorrow.
The panel will focus on supply and demand pressures, outcomes from the Bill’s Second Reading, such as changes to Section 21 and the courts process, and the implications of the Committee Stage, such as introducing a Decent Homes Standard to the private rented sector.
The discussion will also dive into how agents can take advantage of an uncertain market, whilst remaining compliant, what further changes to expect from the political calendar and a possible General Election, as well as how they can support and reassure their existing landlords through the changes.
“With the Bill now in the Committee stages and multiple amendments already tabled, we are now at a crucial junction. These reforms are wide-ranging and could be disruptive to businesses. However, there are golden opportunities that savvy agents can seize to turn this into an opportunity to grow and unlock new revenue streams. We hope this webinar shines a light on those opportunities and how to capitalise on them” says Sherlock.
Agents can sign-up to the webinar here.
