Finders Keepers beat off all comers to pick up the award for Lettings Agency of the Year. There were top honours, too, for Foxtons and Knight Frank's Tim Hyatt.
The Oxford-based agency, formed in 1972, was praised by the judges for its 24/7 emergency helpline which is manned by its own staff, and for the level of detail on its company website – giving, for example, information about nearby gyms, pubs and schools. The judges, at the awards scheme sponsored by the Times and Sunday Times, also noted that the firm has testimonials where clients ‘wax lyrical’.
Foxtons won the best chain, with judges saying they were bowled over by its entry and the fact that 85% of landlords would use Foxtons again.
The former bad boy of the property world beat off Countrywide, which took silver, and Your Move and Hamptons International, which took joint bronze, to complete its rehabilitation.
There was also an award for outstanding contribution to the lettings industry which went to ARLA president Tim Hyatt, of Knight Frank.
Finders Keepers also picked up the award for the UK’s best medium-size agency, while Northfields picked up the award for best small agent, and MyLondonHome, run by Steven Herd, won the award for best single-office agent.
Finders Keepers kept the awards coming by winning the award for overall best property management, while Foxtons picked up silver – the two very different businesses continuing to wow the judges (although Foxtons apparently failed to impress researchers on a financial website – see next story).
Best lettings franchise went to Belvoir, with Your Move picking up silver. The best supplier to the lettings industry was furniture specialist Vivid Living, with inventory firm Imfuna getting silver.
