While Britain is in the grip of Olympicmania, we must congratulate the awesome achievement of someone who admits that ‘running really isn’t my thing’.
Vidhur Mehra, from central London agent Benham and Reeves, raised an incredible £11,084 by taking part in the recent London 10k road run.
The modest Mehra’s time was one hour and 57 seconds, somewhat behind the winner Edwin Kipyego’s time of 27.48 minutes.
However, Mehra, who is finance director at the agency, raised the sum for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust – and he did them and the industry proud.
“The run was a huge challenge for me,” he said. “And while running isn’t really my thing, I felt it was important to do all I can to raise money for the CF Trust. The Trust receives no Government funding but does so much to support sufferers of this life-threatening disease.
“I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me and helped me reach my target. Many clients, other agents, friends and family all pulled together and I really am humbled by the generosity that everyone has shown.
“But in answer to those who have already asked, no, I don’t think I will be doing another run any time soon. I shall be sticking to number crunching.”
