With no entry requirements, agents can decide which of the levels are most suited to their needs. The Level 3 BTEC course in Residential Lettings and Management is ideal for both newcomers and experienced agents. Some of the content including, Tenancy agreements in depth, Evictions, repossessions and court procedures and legal obligations, as well as financial hardship, housing benefit and improving interpersonal skills. The Level 4 encompasses all units covered in Level 3 with additional units more pertinent to senior staff and management, such as Organisational Management, Marketing, Property Maintenance and Codes of practice.
Candidates who complete the Level 4 BTEC Qualification can expect to receive licensed membership to the Associate of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA), as well as having a professional qualification to enhance their own prospects in the field. The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) also accepts the BTEC as part of their Associate Membership criteria and has publically supported the BTEC qualification – praising us “for helping people make significant progress in their careers”. Candidates interested in joining ARLA or RICS should check their eligibility with the relevant organisation.
