A new franchise owner has been announced for Belvoir in York.

Mark Stephenson has 20 years’ experience as a landlord, having owned his first property at the age of 19.

He said: “Having been a professional landlord, I believe that my experience of lettings agents in the North-East, East Anglia and London will equip me to offer an even better service.”

Stephenson has spent most of his working life in management posts with multi-national companies including Toshiba, Fujitsu, Daiwa Securities and JP Morgan Chase.

Last year he managed two of the largest programmes in post-trade derivatives for Credit Suisse. He and his wife have also run an art dealership in Cambridge, specialising in contemporary and modern works from Eastern Europe and Russia.

He said his aim is to build his Belvoir business into one of the biggest letting agencies in the region, and develop a portfolio of around 1,000 properties.
