Citylets is claiming the crown as the certified leading Scottish Lettings Portal for 2013 based on figures from online experts Experian Hitwise. Visitor traffic for the year was also up a full 19.4% on 2012 to over 4 million.
Traffic increases were linked to more inquiries from unique users which were up 14% and letting agent offices on site also grew over the year to more than 550.
Thomas Ashdown, founder and MD of Citylets said: “We are delighted to have yet again delivered high double digit growth for our customers.
"Scotland needs its own strong, independent portals to maintain its unique position in mainland UK as a region that offers agents property portal choice. We now attract four times the visitors per year than in 2007 when many already considered Citylets established.”
Citylets pioneered the network model whereby Scottish listings were distributed to other mainstream UK property sites but disbanded it in 2012 to retain autonomy over its operations and pricing and, according to Ashdown, to help preserve choice for Scottish letting agents.
“All our key portal partnerships are now with local property sites such as the ESPC and GSPC and local media businesses such as The Daily Record, Media Scotland’s flagship title.”
