Well-known industry figure Paul Shamplina has moved to dispel rumours that his Landlord Action company is in any kind of trouble.
The firm was voluntarily wound up on May 25 but has never ceased trading. It is now back in private ownership, trading under the same name.
Shamplina says the insolvency was a technical measure that followed a dispute with his former business partner.
Jonathan Chippeck, who co-founded eviction company Landlord Action in 2001, has now quit the company.
New partner Michael Kaplin, a long-standing landlord, bought the assets of the company and yesterday said: “The firm never stopped trading for one moment. The insolvency practitioners appointed Paul to run it, and I in turn bought the company because of Paul, whom I have known for years.
“Paul will remain as managing director and I plan to have little day-to-day involvement in the running of the company.”
The company is rumoured to have owed £72,000 but Kaplin said the debts had been repaid.
Company details now appear in conjunction with Chine Enterprises, which was incorporated in May.
Landlord Action says it has handled more than 20,000 evictions, acting for landlords and letting agents, and Shamplina is in regular demand as a speaker and industry expert.
