The Chartered Institute of House is setting up a new online qualification for anyone wishing to understand tenancies, property and tenancy management and customer care in the private rented sector.
The £360 course, being run in conjunction with the Residential Landlords’ Association, lasts 14 weeks and requires an estimated six to eight hours online work per week.
Successful candidates will secure a Level 2 Award in Letting and Managing Residential Property.
The training covers three units - Tenancies and the law, Property and tenancy management, and Customer care in the private rented sector - with all of them focusing on the industry in England.
The CIH says the course is aimed at letting and managing agents, Individual landlords letting one or a small portfolio of residential properties, housing association staff letting and/or managing market-rented properties, housing advice workers, and anyone considering a future frontline housing position as a career option.
Applicants must be 16 or over and, for the duration of the course, candidates receive temporary CIH membership giving them access to substantial back-up information and guidance.
