Student lettings agency manager says he will cooperate with police probe

The manager of a Lancaster letting agency dealing chiefly with students says he will co-operate with any police investigation into his company, which entered voluntary liquidation last month.

The Lancaster Guardian reports that Lancashire Police have confirmed they are currently assessing three reports handed to them in relation to the firm, Lancaster Property Network Management (LPNM) Ltd.

LPNM’s former manager John Sanderson - who now runs a new student lettings company, One Stop Lancaster - strongly rejects any allegations against the previous firm, reports the newspaper.

“I respect the police’s responsibility to investigate any matter reported to them by anybody; even those matters which are not supported by evidence. If I am contacted by the police, I will fully cooperate with any investigation but I know that no fraud has taken place. As far as I understand, the liquidator of LPNM will be investigating all matters regarding the finances of the company” he is quoted as saying.

LPNM is currently in the hands of liquidator Jackson Wright and Co Financial Recovery, based in Preston.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police told the Lancaster Guardian: “We have received a number of reports via Action Fraud about a property company based in Lancaster which has gone into liquidation and we are in the process of assessing these reports.”
