Competition aims to celebrate agents' everyday excellence to clients

The man behind a new competition for agents says he has taken the initiative to try to redress the negative press which is growing around the industry.

“Negative press about our industry seems to be growing, yet the inspirational stories about the kind and wonderful things we do for clients gets ignored. It’s time to redress the balance” explains estate agency trainer and consultant Stephen Brown, who runs Stephen J Brown Consultancy.

“I want to celebrate the wonderful work estate and letting agents do throughout the country on a daily basis. This is about those caring gestures, no matter how small, that have had a real impact on clients” he says.

Brown has recruited Martin Baum, president of the National Association of Estate Agents, Andrew Bulmer of Bulmer Estates, and property industry content provider Andrea Morgan - aka RightmoveAddict on Twitter - to serve as judges. 

The winner will be able to nominate a charity to which £500 - donated by Brown - will be given. 

Agents can nominate themselves or their colleagues (or even, presumably, their rivals) and must provide two short statements - one for the agent to describe what they did, and the other for the client to describe how it impacted on them. 

Basic information such as the agent’s name, role, estate agency name, location and details of the client (who may be contacted) should also be provided.
