An East Midland lettings agency sold to Countrywide in what is reported to be a seven-figure deal.
Underwoods has been trading for more than 30 years and has been owned by mother and daughter team Karen Southcott and Laura Crouch for the past decade.
“Underwoods Town and County has a reputation for fair dealing and doing things right, that’s the key. Treating people right. My daughter, Laura Crouch, joined the business and we have worked hard, very hard, to build it up” says Karen Southcott.
David Fletcher, of corporate finance firm Watersheds which handles commercial business transactions, says: "We have just sold the business for a seven-figure sum to Countrywide plc. It is a personal success story for mother and daughter team Karen and Laura."
All jobs at Underwoods, which has offices in Northampton and Wellingborough, have been retained.
