A London estate agency has launched a management service for owners of vacant homes in the capital.
MyLondonHome, founded in 2002, says it will be assisting London homeowners who leave their property vacant for long periods every year.
The firm says it has launched the service in response to client concerns about who would ‘water plants’ or ‘organise repairs’ while their property is vacant.
“The service is completely new to the industry and has really encapsulated a true need for those frequently travelling or absent from the property they own,” the agency says.
Under its new service, MyLondonHome will act as the key holder for the property, visiting regularly and carrying out routine checks.
Standard services in the agent’s proposition include liaising with neighbours, checking security systems and taking regular meter readings.
And for its clients returning to the capital, MyLondonHome says it will stock their fridge and pick them up from the airport…

An interesting concept - one I've never heard of before. Would it not be better, though, with the housing shortage we have, for these homes to be put to better use?
@Hannah Lawrence - Agreed! Ease the housing shortage AND provide the owners with a tidy little profit. Win-win-solution for the capital surely?
