Ahead of the next academic year, a letting agency has been advising prospective students on how to rent a property while at university.
Last week London agency Sandfords hosted a stall at the London Business School Fresher’s Fair.
The agency attends the event every year and says it advises many of the university’s overseas students in the initial stages of their property search.
“With our office being just over the road we have always felt really connected with the university and its students, and for three months of the year we spend a lot of time helping them as much as we can,” says Julia Garber, Sandfords’ lettings director.
Last week Glide Utilities revealed that 49% of students it surveyed feel their weekly rent represents good value for money.
However, 66% of respondents said they have experienced problems with the way their property is managed.
Most common issues included a lack of communication, unannounced visits and maintenance issues.
