Some 19 per cent of MPs in the new parliament are landlords according to their entries in the first Register of MPs' Interests published since the general election.
The register records only those properties to let which return a rent of £10,000 or more per year.
According to data collated by the pressure group Generation Rent, the MP with the most properties in the ‘residential landlord’ category of the register is - perhaps unsurprisingly - the new Tory member Kevin Hollinrake, founder of Hunters Property Group. His register entry says he has a one-third share in 12 properties.

Not surprising that he's at the top really is it? Although I thought it would be a lot higher than just 19 per cent. Watching Question Time last night, the politicians all get very sheepish when buy-to-let restrictions are brought up by the audience!
Have to agree @John, when I saw the headline I thought it would have been more! Seems to have decreased somewhat since the election, where 1 in 4 MP's were landlords!
