Over 7,000 responses have been received in the second round of consultation over the Scottish Government’s proposals for private rental sector reform - with most wanting the sector to remain market-led and not introduce rent controls.

The exercise was to gather views on proposals “'to improve security of tenure for tenants, while giving suitable safeguards for landlords, lenders and investors” in the words of the Scottish Government.
