A London estate and letting agency has announced the appointment of 19 new members of staff as a result of a recent acquisition.
Portico has taken on the new recruits – many of whom are recent graduates – to work across its network of branches.
Portico took over Spencers in East London in early May, although the eight branch agency will continue to trade under its existing name with its directors retained as consultants.
“It’s hard to believe that we have gone from one employee in a backstreet office in Camden 10 years ago, to 20 offices across London and Essex, with nearly 200 employees today," says Robert Nichols, Portico's managing director.
He says the company is expanding rapidly and therefore remains on a recruitment drive.
As well as agents, Portico is recruiting handymen and property inspectors.
The agency was known as Edmund Cude until April last year and operated solely in lettings until it acquired Bushells in 2012.
