The high-end agency Pastor Real Estate is marketing what it believes may be the capital’s smallest grade II listed duplex apartment - it has only 364 square feet of internal space.
36 Shepherd Market is described as a duplex one-bedroom apartment which has “recently undergone a glamourous full refurbishment.”
And as if to confirm the perception of London’s costly rental market, the flat is now to let for £525 per week.
The apartment is above a shop and overlooks Shepherd Market - a characterful area best known in history as a red light location since the 18th century and more recently identified as where former MP and best-selling author Jeffrey Archer had assignations in the 1980s.
The apartment has a private street level door while upstairs on the first floor there is a kitchen, window and living area.
On the second floor is what the agency describes as a “generous” double bedroom - along with a custom-made bed - plus two large restored original sash windows and what the details say is a “dressing table-cum-study area. A marble-tiled bathroom has a walk-in shower.
The agency says the property represents real value for money compared to nearby offerings - and the tenants will have the opportunity to be near a pub popular with nearby Mayfair workers, while close by is a private members’ club.
