The Advertising Standards Authority has stepped in to ensure that a letting agency displays the correct logo for the redress organisation it has joined.
The ASA had received a complaint that Bailey and Passmore Lettings Ltd, featured The Property Ombudsman logo at the bottom on its home page.
The complainant, who understood that the agency was not registered with The Property Ombudsman, challenged whether the use of TPO’s logo was misleading.
A statement from the ASA reads: “We approached the advertiser about the concerns that had been raised and it agreed to remove the logo without the need for a formal investigation. Bailey and Passmore Lettings Ltd are registered with the Ombudsman Services Property but this is a separate organisation to the TPO and they had erroneously displayed their logo on their website. On this basis we resolved the case informally.”
However, as of yesterday evening the TPO logo was still on display on the agency’s website. We have asked the agency to comment.

And it is still on display today. What a bunch of toothless vagrants the ASA is!
Well said, Paul. What is the point of them going to the trouble of carrying out these 'investigations' if the outcomes are never enforced?
I am the complainant - not happy that nothing has been done - it's too late now though, they've shut up shop and stolen our tenants money. :(
