Trade body announces details of 2017 training courses

Industry trade body the Association of Independent Inventory Clerks (AIIC) has announced the first batch of dates for its 2017 training courses.

The two-day courses - which are open to letting agents, landlords and inventory clerks - will be taking place in February, April, June, September and November.

Those who attend the Guidelines for Inventory Professionals course will be given the opportunity to gain membership to the AIIC, which is the UK's largest membership association for inventory clerks.

The training programme includes sessions on Check-ins and Check-outs, legal guidelines and how to assess property damage. It also covers practical issues such as dealing with tenants and the business side of being an inventory clerk.

"Our training courses help to raise standards and make sure that independent inventories are being compiled fairly, accurately and legally," says Patricia Barber, Chair of the AIIC.

She explains that a professionally compiled inventory has become an integral part of the lettings process and is often an invaluable document at the end of a tenancy.

Launched last year, the AIIC also runs online courses for those unable to attend the two-day sessions.

"Our online courses provide an alternative route to gain membership to the AIIC and have proved very popular since we launched them last summer," adds Barber.

The AIIC's two-day courses are set to take place at the Hilton Hotel in Bracknell, Berkshire.

A full list of dates and further details can be found on the organisation's website.
