The Leaders Romans Group has acquired an independent lettings agency in Bath, taking it into the south western region for the first time.
Bath Property Lettings had been owned and run by Bath Building Society for over 25 years but the society’s chief executive Dick Jenkins says: “As the letting market develops it was becoming clear that our letting customers, both landlords and tenants, would be best served by the support of a specialist company with much greater market expertise than we could offer.”
The acquisition marks the start of Romans’ move into new territory as this branch will be the furthest west the group have ventured.
Between 2013 and 2016, Romans acquired over 10 new businesses; after a 12 month gap they are back on the acquisition trail having acquired three new businesses in the year to date.
“These acquisitions are further proof of our confidence in the industry across the UK and our determination to grow both in existing branch locations and brand new areas” explains Matthew Light, group acquisitions director at the Leaders Romans Group.
He continues: “We have become the industry’s preferred acquirer having completed more than 150 acquisitions and we work with outgoing owners allowing them to fulfil their desired exit strategy, as well as ensuring a long and prosperous future for their customers.”
The Bath deal comes less than a week after Leaders’ acquisition of City Lettings in Norwich, and just three weeks after the Leaders Romans Group completed two acquisitions in just 24 hours, acquiring Penyards Property Management in Winchester and Prescott Hall in Chester.
