The Residential Landlords Association says it welcomes the government’s decision to reduce the likely maximum payment by landlords for energy improvements from £5,000 to £2,500 per property.
As part of the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards being introduced from next April - with the first part requiring homes to be brought up to a minimum E EPC rating - the original maximum of £5,000 to be paid by a landlord has now been halved.
This requirement comes into force for new lets and tenancy renewals from April 2018 and for all residential lets from April 2020.
A new consultation on the proposal closes on March 13.
