The operator of a troubled letting agency in Huddersfield has had until this week to pay a £5,000 fixed penalty notice fine issued by his local council.
As Letting Agent Today reported last week, the Gallery@HD1 - expelled by The Property Ombudsman - was in fresh difficulty because its office in the town had closed suddenly, following the news that the agency had also been expelled by a second redress service, the Property Redress Scheme.
The Huddersfield Daily Examiner has now revealed that the agency’s director, Dennis Goodridge, was served a Notice of Intent on December 20; Goodridge did not appeal for a civil penalty was served on January 25, with a deadline of this week for payment.
Up to the end of Tuesday at least, the fine remained unpaid.
