Bristol lettings agency Livnlet has told the Advertising Standards Authority it is removing four testimonials from its website after a complaint from someone who posted a negative review that was not uploaded.
The complainant challenged whether four reviews on the site - each giving the agency four or five stars - were genuine and whether they could be substantiated.
A statement from gthe ASA says: ”Liv n Let said all the testimonials were genuine, but they need to get in touch with the people for their permission to pass their details on to us. They said all reviews were automatically published once written and they had only ever removed one post, which stated that they were ‘bordering thieves’ and was posted under a fictitious name.”
The authority says the agency expressed a willingness to remove the testimonials if this would help resolve the complaint.
“Because Liv n Let gave an assurance that they would remove the testimonials, we closed the investigation informally” says the authority.
When Letting Agent Today checked the website yesterday evening there were four reviews, all from tenants, and giving the company four or five stars.
