An online lettings agency specialising in student accommodation has raised £310,000 to grow its business.
StudentTenant says its aim is to rival conventional high street letting agencies that cater for the same market. The UK-based prop-tech start-up is a free to use service for landlords to advertise their student property on the site and some property portals.
Now advertising over 2,000 properties, the site claims to be the largest student-only property letting agency in the UK and says it works with eMoov - for which it offers a £120 reduction on its fixed-fee package - and Uber and Norwegian Air to offer deals to clients.
The firm says it is now going to launch ClickTenant, using the same technology and approach but applying to the whole lettings market.
“The industry is undergoing big changes, particularly with recent government announcements such as the ban on letting agent fees. We aim to capitalise on a drastically shifting market, at a time where many landlords and property providers are looking to change to a more efficient agent” says a spokesman.
“The in-house technology we have developed allows the whole process of booking viewings and properties to be so much more streamlined and cost effective - something that can never be offered by any high street estate agent with enormous fixed costs and old fashioned practices” he claims.
