A family-run firm is offering a tenant referencing service involving a face-to-face interview of prospective tenants in their current accommodation.
It claims this will offer “an in-depth understanding of the prospective tenant, providing an accurate ‘real time’ account of their current circumstances, how they treat their accommodation, whether they smoke, if they have pets or perhaps even sub-let.”
The service is from a firm called Tenant Checkers, founded last year by Peter Owen who purchased a buy to let property and who regarded current tenant referencing systems as insufficiently comprehensive.
He describes the firm as “small, friendly, family-run” but says a team of “highly experienced agents” will interview the prospective tenant in their current accommodation and compile a report and feedback for the landlord client in return for a fee starting from £75.
The service will operate across the south of England.
