The National Approved Letting Scheme has launched a new course which it describes as “ground-breaking” and which allows candidates to become certified without even leaving the office.
The NALS Foundation Lettings Course (England) has been recognised by the educational regulator NCFE.
It allows agents to take their tests online rather than having to attend a dedicated testing centre. Candidates successfully completing the award will receive an NCFE certificate.
The new NALS course is an extension of its Virtual Learning Environment and offers online tuition ranging from the basics through to enhancing knowledge through a recognised award. These course are led by Jane Moore, NALS’ new Head of Learning.
In addition, NALS has now become an ABBE (Awarding Body for the Built Environment) Approved Centre with full authorisation to deliver ABBE lettings qualifications.
NALS has also been confirmed as an approved training provider for Rent Smart Wales, the regulator for agents and landlords in Wales. By completing the Foundation Lettings Course (Wales), agents can become compliant with the Rent Smart Wales licensing training requirement.
“NALS exists to promote a safer private rented sector that is better for all. We can help to raise standards by giving agents the very best professional development, which they can undertake without having to leave the office” explains Isobel Thomson, the organisation’s chief executive.
“We understand the importance of appropriate training for professionals involved in the private rented sector and the importance of competently navigating our constantly changing lettings landscape.”
