The number of tenants entering the market across the UK has risen by 7.3 per cent on the month - but it’s still a remarkable 33.2 per cent down annually according to Haart lettings agency.
It says that despite the rise in demand over the past month, avarege rents have fallen by one per cent and now sits at a UK-wide figure of £1,268 per month.
Demand in London has also risen by 16.6 per cent on the month - however, it has fallen by 30.7 per cent on the year.
London rents have risen by 0.1 per cent and the average rental price now sits at £1,788 per month across the capital.
Haart also claims that the number of landlords registering to buy has fallen this month, by 2.1 per cent in England and Wales and by 3.9 per cent in London.
The annual fall is greater, 20.4 per cent and 45.6 per cent on the year respectively.
