A branch of Martin & Co has substantially boosted its managed portfolio following the acquisition of independent agency County Rentals.
The goodwill purchase has seen Martin & Co Stirling take on County Rentals’ portfolio of properties and three staff members from the firm’s branch in nearby Alloa.
Martin & Co Stirling managing director Imtiaz Ahmed says: “County Rentals were one of the biggest players in the Alloa market and although we had a presence there, we certainly weren’t the biggest so this acquisition has now provided us with a stronger foothold in that town, which is one of the biggest in central Scotland.
“Obviously County Rentals’ doors have now closed but under the Martin & Co brand we are still very much trading in Alloa as well as Stirling.”
Louise Griffiths, Martin & Co’s managing director, adds: “We are very keen to continue to assist our franchisees to increase their portfolios through acquisitions and are delighted to be a part of this exciting expansion in central Scotland.”
Meanwhile in England the Bedford branch of Martin & Co has new owners.
Business partners Shahid Miah, Jay Miah and Habib Rahman have taken on the business and its portfolio of managed properties after completing a resale deal with the previous owner.
The trio boast a wealth of experience in retail and commercial banking, while Jay Miah also spent more than a decade in sales, lettings and mortgage advice and is a Bedford resident.
