The online lettings agency Urban is continuing to operate as normal despite the shock revelation that parent company Emoov is looking for a possible buyer.
Urban was one of the two online agencies taken over by Emoov only last summer; its staff moved into Emoov premises shortly after the takeover, during which Tepilo was also acquired to go under the Emoov umbrella.
It is understood that some 250 lettings listings are taken on each month by Urban; all of its staff continue to work as normally.
Urban was set up by Oliver Atkinson and Adam Male in 2005 and the agency’s website says the service was “one of the pioneers of online estate agency” and adds: “We are proud of our reputation in the industry and are consistently rated five stars by our customers.”
Male became director of lettings in the merged company, according to an announcement by Emoov at the end of May this year.
“Being part of a much larger group of property specialists with significant resources to deploy for growth, is truly exciting. I’m proud to be joining the senior team at Emoov to advance our progress as the go-to player in better value home sales and rentals” Male said at the time.
