Bristol council is consulting on a licensing scheme which could see buy to let investors paying £1,660 for a five year licence on so-called ‘mini HMOs’.
The scheme is proposed for the 12 electoral wards that make up central Bristol and would apply to all privately rented houses or flats let to three or more people who aren’t related and who share some facilities such as a kitchen or a bathroom.
Landlords of such properties would need to apply for a licence, which would last for five years, and comply with the licensing conditions imposed by the scheme.
