A city council is to investigate the impact of Airbnb and other short let online platforms on the local housing market and on hotels.
The Evening News website says over 300 properties in Norwich are listed on Airbnb and a proposal will go to the council’s scrutiny committee that there should be an impact study undertaken.
“Councillors acknowledge that the ability to rent out homes or rooms for short periods brings benefits to people who can make significant money from short term letting. But they say it also raises questions about problems for neighbours, with transient visitors, noise from parties in flats and the loss of housing for local people” reports the article.
