The National Approved Letting Scheme is celebrating the 500th candidate to complete its Foundation Lettings Course.
Moira Devlin of Lowther Homes, in Scotland, was the 500th graduate, completing the Foundation Lettings Course (Scotland).
“The private rented sector is constantly changing and evolving, which is why it’s so important for professionals to keep up to speed through training and professional development. We’re very proud to see such excellent take up. Congratulations to Moira, and we look forward to the next 500!” says Isobel Thomson, chief executive of NALS.
The scheme offers three versions of the Foundations Lettings Course - for England, Scotland and Wales, depending on where agents operate.
Each is structured to allow course members to learn and take their tests online rather than having to attend a dedicated centre, and successful candidates an NCFE certificate, and if they work for a NALS member firm can use the designation ‘NALS Qualified’.
For agents undertaking the Scottish or Welsh Foundation Lettings Course, both meet government and licensing training requirements in those countries for Rent Smart Wales and the Svottish Register of Letting Agents respectively.
The deadline for Scottish agents to join the new register is September 30 and NALS says it’s seeing many taking advantage of the online training to allow them to become compliant in time.
