Double acquisition marks further expansion for fast-growing regional

Fast-growing regional Yorkshire agency Linley & Simpson has announced the details of two new acquisitions.

It has picked up the lettings books of Leeds-based Hitchen & Co and York firm McCartney Lettings - both for undisclosed sums.

The agency - which announced a £10 million investment in June to help strengthen its position in the Yorkshire property market - has now completed six acquisitions this year.

Thanks to the deals, Linley & Simpson will welcome an additional 340 properties under management - bringing its total past the 6,000 mark for the first time.

The agency, which launched in 1997 with a team of two, now has a branch network of 11 offices and it hires over 180 staff. The firm's chief executive, Will Linley, says there will be more acquisitions before the end of the year.

"We are thrilled to augment our business with this duo of well-known and respected names in the Yorkshire marketplace," he says.

"These latest acquisitions, and others in the pipeline, form another strong signal of our confidence in the future – and investing in it."

"We aim to increase the number of properties we manage from 6,000 to 10,000 over the next three years, bringing our market-leading services to a wider range of customers right across the Yorkshire region," adds Linley.

Gareth Marshall, director at LDC - which made the £10 million investment - comments: "These acquisitions will allow Linley & Simpson to continue its exciting growth strategy."

"As the first acquisitions made since our investment they also represent a major milestone in the company’s expansion programme. With plenty of exciting projects to come we’re looking forward to further supporting the business as it continues to go from strength-to-strength."

The properties acquired from Hitchen & Co will be shared between Linley & Simpson's Leeds City Centre and Wakefield branches. Meanwhile, the McCartney Lettings portfolio will be transferred to Linley & Simpson's York branch.
