The average rent of a newly let property in Great Britain rose to £999 pcm in October according to data from Countrywide’s upmarket Hamptons International brand.
This figure is 2.2 per cent higher than the same period last year.
Rising rents in the south of England drove rental growth - average rents increased 3.9 per cent in the South East, 3.8 per cent in the East and 3.0 per cent in the South West.
