A new lettings agency has sprung up, catering almost entirely for the burgeoning Airbnb-style short lets market.
Shoreside Lettings, based at Cowes on the Isle of Wight, has around 10 properties available currently in the town “many of which cater to the busy regatta market providing accommodation to visiting crews and the people who work on the events.”
The agency is the brainchild of event organiser Mary Scott-Jackson, who has over 20 years experience of working on events in Cowes and dealing with the visitors to the regattas and other events.
Her events company, MSJ Events, is a key organiser of sailing-centred festivals including Cowes Spring Classics and the Panerai British Classic Week; it also acts as media manager for Cowes Week.
“Our aim is to make it easy for everyone to find their perfect rental property. Be that a central town house close to the marinas, an apartment for two, a dog friendly house, a crew house or a family friendly property” she explains on her website.
And Scott-Jackson has told the local press: “I’m really excited to be launching this new business which I feel compliments my existing work in event management. I am always being asked by competitors to the events that I organise if I know of any available accommodation, and now I can say that I do.
“I have a small number of properties already signed up and I am now looking to add to my portfolio so that I can start promoting for 2020 to my extensive mailing list.”
