The lockdown is now a fact of life across almost all of the western world so the team at Chestertons, which has an office in Gibraltar, is working from home too.
Here are two useful hints from chief executive Mike Nicholls: “1. Try to get a home with a view, as the home office is here to stay and looking at this view is much more pleasurable than from my office, so currently I am blessed to be able to go to work every day on my terrace and thank goodness I had glass curtains fitted ages ago to give my new office an all year round use; 2. Enjoy a glass of wine without any member of staff realising!”
And from the same office, sales negotiator Elaine Thompson has given us an insight into her literary qualities too - thanks so much for the poem and the shot from your home Elaine. Here’s her poem:
I’m working from home and I don’t want to moan but it’s driving me slightly mad.
My phone’s on the blink, I am starting to think that office life isn’t so bad.
The fridge keeps a calling, my hands keep a trawling through biscuits, nibbles and snacks.
By the time I am free, they’ll be nothing to see but a lunatic, hiding the cracks.
My day starts at nine and I’m starting to pine for Jonathan, Louis and Paul
I know that sounds sad and things must be bad because that isn’t normal at all.
I’m missing the days of rushing round in a haze with more keys than my handbag can hold.
Then making the call, “Hello Mr Ball, I’m so happy; your property’s sold.
But for now we must wait, stay at home, isolate. Take advice from the powers that be.
Because once it’s all done, we will be back to the fun of selling our clients’ property.
** Over Easter we have a selection of images and top tips from agents on how they’re coping with working from home. We have different stories across Estate Agent Today and Letting Agent Today, so do please check out both sites. Thanks - and stay safe… **
