Coventry council has been branded as irresponsible by a leading trade body for allegedly ignoring government advice on licensing schemes during the Coronavirus crisis.
The National Residential Lettings Agency says that despite guidance from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government - that the introduction of new, non-mandatory licensing schemes should be paused – the council went ahead with a new scheme starting earlier this week.
NRLA policy director Chris Norris says: “The guidelines are there to protect tenants and landlords from unnecessary contact.
