PropTech tool monitors transactions + New Viewber partnership

PropTech company Teal Legal has designed a new tool which it says will help restore confidence in the property market once lockdown is eased. 

Teal Legal’s ‘Move Barometer’ is based on a more nuanced traffic light system, providing a digital assessment of house moving guidelines as they may change during the lockdown period and providing information about what movers can and can’t do.

Aside from the usual red, amber, green categories, it also includes a ‘Red-Amber: Get Ready’ setting - which is the current status - which the firm hopes will encourage home movers remain engaged in the process.

The firm says it will provide free links to any agents wanting to add the Move Barometer as a resource to their own websites during the Coronavirus crisis.  

“We’ve had feedback from the agents and solicitors we’ve been working with that many of their clients, unsurprisingly, have felt paralysed by the lockdown when it comes to selling their house, unsure of what steps, if any, they can take” explains Sally Holdway, director at Teal Legal.

“We think that the key message at the moment, is that whilst we are all staying home to keep safe, this doesn’t have to equate to a binary on/off switch for the property market” she continues.  

“Whilst the majority of deals can’t complete right now, there are plenty of things which can be done remotely, which will mean that once lockdown is lifted and new protocols for safe moves are in place, deals can progress quickly.  So advising clients of some of the ‘get ready’ steps they can take today, we hope will be helpful.”  

The Barometer status is reviewed and updated on a weekly basis, to ensure it is reflecting the current guidelines.

Meanwhile outsourced viewing service Viewber has announced a collaboration with MRI Software.

It means MRI’s sales agents, lettings agents and property managers have direct access to Viewber’s platform from which they can commission viewings, open houses, inspections, reports, 360 tours, meet and greets, and house sittings. 

“We hope to be able to provide even more organisations with flexible and cost-effective solutions as they return gradually to full capacity” explains Viewber co-founder Ed Mead.
