Accreditation service NAPIT has produced a publication for the rental sector ahead of new electrical safety checks coming into force for new tenancies from July 1.
The guide from the National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers covers legislation requirements; the consequences of not complying; details of a check; details of different electrical forms; coding; frequency of inspections and competency of inspectors amongst other things.
The National Residential Landlords Association has worked with NAPIT Meera Chindooroy - NRLA deputy director for campaigns, public affairs and policy, says:“The new electrical safety regulations coming into force in England in July will impact all landlords, and we were happy to work with NAPIT to ensure guidance to help them navigate the new rules is accurate and consistent.”
