The new chief executive of Propertymark says being a member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents is a sign of quality and high standard, and it’s up to agents to spread the word about that on the High Street.
Tim Balcon - who became CEO of the trade body in October - says in a video interview exclusively on Letting Agent Today that quality and standards set ARLA members apart from others, and these distinctions will come to be appreciated by consumers too.
In the interview Balcon speaks about the increasingly close links between ARLA and the National Residential Landlords Association, and about how he wants Propertymark as a holistic brand - rather than ARLA or its sales equivalent NAEA - to become the word that the public ultimately recognise as a kitemark of quality.

Far too expensive.
I've always had CMP, even before in became compulsory and always been transparent with my clients.
Ever since ARLA merged with the NAEA, I've been a NALS/SAFEAGENT member; far better value for money and PRS specific.
If ARLA/ Propertymark want the whole industry on board, they need to stop ripping off members.
I agree. NALS/SAFEAGENT are just as good as ARLA/Propertymark or whetver they call themselves this week.
