Leading industry figure Peter Knight is to discuss the future of the rental sector and the role of agents in a seminar tomorrow.
It’s at 0930 and Knight will be joined by the director of insurance from PropTech firm Goodlord, Oli Sherlock.
Lack of stock will be one of the main topics of discussion in the webinar, with 32 per cent of letting agents identifying it as a concern, along with legislation and compliance. To counter these concerns, top priorities for agents in the coming year include generating more revenue and reducing their administration time.
Knight will also touch on the changing sentiment in the lettings industry. While optimism from agents remains high year-on-year, the industry is showing some signs of heightened caution following 18 months of uncertainty.
A recent survey suggested that a large majority - 67 per cent - of respondents felt either “very optimistic” or “somewhat optimistic” about the future of the lettings industry, down from 80 per cent a year ago.
"I'm delighted to be joining Goodlord to discuss the outlook for letting agencies in the coming year and look at some of the ways they can meet their concerns and priorities head on, drawing inspiration from the top performers in our own annual assessment, for whom the outlook is bright" explains Knight.
And Sherlock adds: "Our State of the Lettings Industry Series has been an incredible opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities lettings agents are currently facing. I am looking forward to our final installment with Peter Knight, who will share his insights on what the best letting agents are doing to combat challenges and make the most of opportunities in the current landscape."
