The fast-accelerating trend of takeovers and mergers continues this morning with news that two Kent agencies are combining.
Oakwood Homes in Thanet is acquiring neighbouring firm Appleton Properties.
Oakwood, founded in 2005, now has four branches throughout the area and handles lettings, sales property management, land, new homes, mortgages, financial services, commercial and property investment.
Both companies have a long-standing association with the area having operated in Thanet for over 30 years; a statement says they “share similar ethical views on running their business based on the foundation of transparency and excellent customer service.”
Andrew Dickinson, Oakwood founder and managing director, adds: “When we first started to discuss the possibility of our businesses aligning, it all made a lot of sense very quickly.
“We both share a passion for people and property, which can be seen by the loyal members of staff we both have the pleasure of working with - and the high number of repeat clients returning to us for business advice over the years.
“Joining the firms is a strategic move to further strengthen our Lettings and Property Management business as well as increasing our overall presence in the local market.”
Jason Appleton, director of Appleton Properties, comments: “Oakwood Homes’ acquisition of Appleton provides a major growth opportunity for all involved. We are pleased our existing clients will continue to receive the same high level of service and look forward to being part of any exciting future”.
