A PropTech company has revealed what letting agent hate and love most about their work.
On the plus side the RentProfile platform’s research show that the most enjoyable part of agents’ work is helping people find a new home, closely followed by meeting new people as well as the variety and the ability to operate as a team.
And on the minus side, there are few surprises - coping with rude clients, repetitive administrative chores and long hours including weekend working are highly unpopular.
The lettings agents - who were questioned by RentProfile in May - dislike the poor public perception of their industry, too.
In terms of managing tenancies, they find tedious or non-serious enquiries are most difficult to deal with, followed by changes to regulations and legislation.
Perhaps unsurprisingly from a survey conducted by a PropTech firm supplying onboarding technology, the results also show that the most admin-intensive parts of agents’ work concerned pre-tenancy and tenancy set-up - these were more of a bugbear than maintenance and viewings.
