Keller Williams UK, which recently announced the closure of two of its franchise operations, has bounced back with what it calls a “Megacamp learning day” in a central London cinema.
Following an opening video address from Marc King, president of Keller Williams Realty Inc - the parent firm which claims more than 1,100 offices and 200,000 associates across 56 countries - there were sessions on personal branding, lead generation and optimising the power of customer databases, and the opportunities involved in running a buyer agency.
There was also the launch of a so-called “learning platform” - KW University - which, in the words of a press statement, “provides agents and associates with a continuous learning environment that provides relevant and timely content via an easy to navigate interface that uses gamification and community engagement to enhance the development process.”
KWUK chief executive Ben Taylor says: “Our Megacamp event was a huge success with excellent feedback from those that attended. I am sure that everyone who attended will have gone away motivated and with new ideas to help them develop as individual businesses and better prepared to succeed in the challenging marketplace we all now face and beyond.”
Some 250 people attended the KWUK event while the agency claims some 480 associates in the UK overall, of which over 380 are agents.
Publicity material for the firm says its mission is “to build careers worth having, businesses worth owning, lives worth living, experiences worth giving and legacies worth leaving.”
Trade press reports suggest the agency has had a challenging time in recent months, parting company with the high profile Russell Quirk, who in addition to being a partner in a local KW franchise also handled the agency’s publicity in this country.
In late August it was announced that the KW Warwick franchise was closing down, while back in the spring KW Optimum - the franchise based in Bristol - was put into liquidation.
