Independent agency disappears after acquisition by national brand

Yet another independent agency has disappeared after being acquired by a national brand.

The Huddersfield branch of Martin & Co has snapped up Milltown Lettings’ portfolio of almost 100 properties.

The Martin & Co franchise in the town has been owned by Will Taylor for 13 years. He says: “I’m thrilled to have completed the acquisition of Milltown Lettings and while there was huge interest from many other agencies, it was obvious very early on that the owners, Simon and Andrea, shared our values and ethos.

“Their portfolio comprises quality properties and this was matched by the high level of personal service provided by Milltown – something that will continue to be given by my colleagues and I at Martin & Co.

The Huddersfield acquisition is the latest for Martin & Co in 2022, after the agency’s Plymouth and Aldershot branches both completed large acquisitions of their own in recent weeks.
