A lettings platform has joined forces with - wait for it - an astrologer, to find ideal places for people with different star signs.
Marissa Malik, a London based astrologer, says she is “renowned for her intuitive skills with the occult” and claims to be “known as one of the UK’s go-to authorities on diasporic magic and modern witchcraft.”
Now the flatshare website SpareRoom is using her to create a horoscope which it says will help young renters - Generation Rent and Millennials - to find the best location to live based on their star sign.
This horoscope for renters was created following SpareRoom research that reveals three out of four people know someone who believes in horoscopes, and almost two in five of them know someone who would base a big decision on theirs.
The horoscope reveals Aries, a sign that craves excitement and adventure, could feel at home in the loud and energetic city of Liverpool, whilst the whimsical and pleasant qualities of a city by the coast would make Brighton the ideal location for Cancers. Meanwhile fierce Scorpios could find the brooding weather, artistic vibes and the rolling hills of Edinburgh to be their perfect playground.
SpareRoom’s Miriam Tierney says: “Star signs are hugely popular and people rely on them for all sorts of life advice and guidance. With remote working offering almost endless possibilities, it’s not always easy to work out where would suit you. Teaming up with Marissa seemed an obvious choice to help guide Gen Zers and millennials that believe in astrology to find the perfect place to call home.
And astrologer Marissa Malik herself comments: “We’re seeing more and more people look to astrology for guidance in making big life decisions. Whether it be switching jobs or finding love, all of us are looking for answers in an uncertain world, so why should renting be any different? I hope that these horoscopes will give renters the confidence to make that big lifestyle change and feel happy to have found their place in the world.”
