The government has delayed publication of the latest How To Rent document - it had been expected today.
The How to Rent Guide is the checklist for renting in England and must be issued by both letting agents and landlords to new tenants or those renewing.
It is vital that agents and landlords issue the correct and current version of the How to Rent guide as a failure to do so before the tenants move in can invalidate a Section 21 notice used to regain possession.
No revised publication date has been given by the government.
Originally the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities had told trade bodies that the new edition would be released today.
Nathan Emerson, CEO of Propertymark, comments: “We understand that DLUHC have delayed publishing the latest How to Rent Guide. It’s vital that agents have clarity to ensure they issue the latest version of the document.
“We will continue to work with the UK Government and inform the industry of any further updates.”

DLUHC - what a bunch on monkeys led by Chief idiot Gove. This is exactly the sort of ineptitude that waste time and money.
The only thing Gove does efficiently is back stabbing.
Department for Dumbing Down. They never level up.
