Airbnb is launching a UK campaign this month aimed at luring first-time customers.
It’s part of a local campaign that launched last month in the US and Canada and will imminently begin in this country as well as Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Korea, Belgium, Netherlands, and Switzerland.
The campaign - based on animated characters - was devised and developed by the team at Airbnb’s in-house agency, and will roll out across digital, online video and social platforms.
There’s a high emphasis on cost-saving and friendship. An extract from the video shared by Airbnb online shows four animated characters checking into a hotel, with the VoiceOver saying: “If you’re taking a trip with your friends, why pay for four hotel rooms to stay apart from your friends?”
It ends with the statement: “Get an Airbnb - and stay together for less.:
Another version shows an animated group of adult friends with the statement: “If you’re finally ready to take a vacation without the kids, why pay more to stay in a hotel with more kids.” This video ends with: “Gat an Airbnb and get a place to yourself.”
You can check out one of the videos here.
